For developers
Send email from your app with one API request
Contact forms, order confirmations, alerts — send them from your own business address with Maililo's REST API. Messages go out through your mailbox and show up in its Sent folder.
Get startedHow it works
- Connect and verify your domain, then create a mailbox.
- On the Pro plan, open API in your dashboard and create a key.
- Send a POST request with the key — that's it.
Example request
curl -X POST https://maililo.com/api/public/v1/send \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"from": "hello@yourdomain.com",
"to": "customer@example.com",
"subject": "Your order is confirmed",
"text": "Thanks for your order!"
}'A successful send returns { id, message_id, status: "sent" }. Errors return { error } with a clear status code (400, 401, 403, 422, 429).

Frequently asked questions
Which plan includes the API?
The email API is included in the Pro plan (€39.99/month). Other plans can send through webmail, and paid plans through SMTP.
Which address do API emails come from?
From one of your own Maililo mailboxes on a domain you've verified, so replies land in your inbox and messages are signed with your domain's DKIM key.
Is there a sending limit?
API sends share your plan's daily sending limit with webmail. When it's reached, the API answers with status 429.
Can I send attachments?
Not yet. Put a download link in the message instead.
How do I keep my key safe?
Only use it in server-side code, never in a browser or mobile app. You can revoke a key at any time from the API page in your dashboard.
